Real Wedding: Alicia and Adam
Aug 19, 2010 Real Wedding
We are super excited to feature this amazing DIY, yellow with touches of grey and white, wedding. Because the bride is a florist, all the flowers were arranged by her and all the centerpiece vases were collected by the couple over a period of time. These were placed all along the middle of the tables and poms poms were strewn inbetween. The look was eclectic and indeed unique.
Alicia redesigned a J.Crew dress to look a bit more vintage! The dress was antique white with a sweetheart neckline and fabric covered beads and ruffles, a wide sash that tied into a big bow in the back, and it was cut just below the knee. She wore a yellow vintage crinoline square dance petticoat under the dress and yellow satin shoes with a bow.
Alicia and Adam had their cocktail hour before the ceremony. They chose the Boathouse at the Audubon Center in Prospect Park, in Brooklyn New York. The guests and wedding party were treated to boat rides and appetizers included grilled cheese sandwiches, deviled eggs, and mini cheese burgers were served. A 3 piece blue grass band played outside and everyone signed fabric squares that are being made into a quilt by Adam’s mom
Thanks Alicia for letting me share your wedding. Pop on over to Alicia and Adams site Bows and Arrows to have a look at more gorgeous florals

Natalie and Glyn Muldersdrift
May 7, 2010 Real Wedding
This fun and vibrant wedding was shot by husband and wife team Melanie Janse and Jaco Janse. Their studio is in Muldersdrift, the wedding capital of Gauteng. They are able to offer studio as well as location shoots to all clients without the hassle of having to travel between locations. Visit their respective sites. Melanie Janse and Jaco Janse for more pictures of this fab wedding
Natalie and Glyn Ogden chose “The Bridge” wedding venue in Muldersdrift for their very special day. Living in Durban made the hunting for venues very difficult, however it gave them access to driftwood on the beaches of KZN which Glyn and Natalie used to make their own table centerpieces for their wedding reception.
The couple were very clear as to what they wanted. Something different, fun and very memorable! This was not difficult at all to achieve as both the bride and groom were keen to try everything and also came up with really good ideas regarding potential locations for their wedding photos. We had as much fun shooting these pics as they had posing for them. The “shebeen” (informal eatery & bar frequented by the local residents and workers from the area) turned out to be a great backdrop, yet another great idea. Natalie’s decision to include royal blue in her dress design, her shoes, the groom’s tie and the decorations…. brilliant.
In the bride’s own word’s; “…whoop whoop, these photos are great. You guys were so much fun to work with and so easy. You made magic happen in the middle of nowhere.”

Real Wedding: Leanne and Jason
Mar 1, 2010 Real Wedding
Leanne sent over these gorgeous pictures of her shades of purple and lilac wedding. Thanks for sharing the eye candy with us Leanne!
Leanne and Jason got married at Woodridge Country Estate in the Midlands. The ceremony took place in the glass chapel overlooking the rolling mountains
The theme was shades of purple with a very relaxed country feel. Guests loved the mini champagne bottles with straws that were given to each guest outside the chapel. These were kept cold in a spray painted wheel barrow. The ‘high tea’ was served from vintage cake stands and Chinese spoons.
The candy bar stole the show with it’s vibrant colours and decorative appeal. The photographer was Alexis Diack .

Mel and Graeme celebrated their wedding at home in their garden. It was relaxed, charming, intimate, cosy and I could go on and on. I love garden weddings, especially when it looks this beautiful. Johannesburg wedding photographer Kat Forsyth sent these gorgeous images over. Thanks Kat. You can see more on her blog Kat Forsyth Photography.

Hearts were incorporated into every detail bringing out their personal style. Memorable and magical. Nothing ordinary about this garden wedding

Mel decided to forgo the wedding cake and opted to having a cake buffet instead. Doesn’t it look delicious?
